Answer: Dear Claudia,

Thank you for the question. Amlodipine does affect Botox results when Botox is used for more systemic issues e.g muscle spasm and over active .

However I don’t believe it affects the localised of Botox when treating small muscle groups in the face. We have a few patients on Amlodipine and Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox, Xeomin and Azzalure) work for them.

Alternative for Botox include Profhilo and microneedling. These treatments help to improve the elasticity of the skin and therefore reduce lines and wrinkles. However Botox is unique in its action.

If you would like to book in for a consultation then please contact us via our profile page.

Warm Regards

Answer: Hello Claudia

Yes there are alternative options to treat lines across the brow, frown lines and crows feet.

If you have lines that you can see when your face is resting then dermal gel fillers are an excellent option, they give instant results and last longer than Botox often over 12 months depending on the depth of the line and amount of dynamic .

To keep your skin really healthy and tight microneedling is a great option especially with a bio-active serum containing exosomes or polynucleotides, these messenger molecules boost your skins to repair so stop and even reverse skin ageing. Depending on your age, lines and laxity we usually recommend 3-6 treatments, one a month.

For more personalized information have a face to face consultation.

Answer: Hi Claudia, thank you for your message. Amlodipine is not contra-indictaed for Botox, there may be a slightly increased risk of bruising after treatment. If you would still prefer to not have botox other treatments such as polynucleotide injections or could be an alternative, these treatments are carried out in courses of 3 sessions and take longer to see . Youre welcome to book for a consultation if you would like to discuss further. Thank you

Answer: Dear Claudia,

We would coming for a consultation with our medical staff. we treat many patients who are Amlodipine and Botox is extremely effective. it is certainly not a contraindication to treatment. Currently there are not alternatives to Botox that we can administer, so our medical staff would recommend trying Botox injections first.
